Sorry to hear it didn't work out! Yeah, sometimes I forget to put food away too. Always makes me very sad.

As for my feelings on the vegetable combo, it might just be my own specific pickiness about food combinations. Might be a lot of other people would love that combo.

And yeah, using a tadka (cooking the spices in oil) can be really important for the flavor.
